Great turnout for our BBRC event at Lockleaze Sports Centre

It was good to see so many old and new faces at our ‘Building a thriving regional economy’ event in Bristol on 4th November 2022, at Lockleaze Sports Centre.

We would like to thank everyone who came along. It was great that so many of our social impact investees were able to be there, and to be able to share their amazing work.

The event kicked off with an introduction from Bristol & Bath Regional Capital Chief Executive, Ed Rowberry.

We enjoyed a keynote speech from Shadi Brazell, Senior Programme Manager for place-based impact investing at Impact Investing Institute who talked about her experience in impact investment and shared real-life examples of impact investment in action.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve done in 7 years.”

Looking ahead, Laura Barrow, Finance Director and Investment Director Jari Moate set out BBRC’s plans to develop new funds of £50-100 million for the wider region to invest in impactful businesses accelerating the route to Net Zero.

The event provided a great opportunity for investees and partners to talk to the team & find out more about BBRC and plans for the future.

Alongside the talks, attendees were able to explore our marketplace of exhibitors, featuring a number of our investees & their innovative products & services, including:

Ambition Community Energy

We really enjoyed the evening and are very grateful to all those that attended and made it such a success. BBRC are excited about our future and are committed to building on the impact we’ve made in the region so far.
