What they do
Ambition Community Energy is a charity which works to provide the residents of Lawrence Western, Bristol with a reliable supply of renewable energy. The focus of this project is the 4.2MW wind turbine which is expected to be commissioned in Spring 2023, with profits being reinvested back into the community.
What we did
BBRC provided the initial loan needed to build the community-owned wind turbine, reflecting our goals of preventing climate change through renewable energy and reducing fuel poverty in the local region.

“City Funds have worked closely with us to develop bespoke financial solutions to support our project success and the outcome, which has enabled Ambition Community Energy CIC to leverage the capital investment of the project. Without the City Funds investment, the project would not have gone ahead. We would like to thank the tireless efforts of the staff involved in BBRC who have supported the project to date.”
